    Banana Choc Chip Oatcake Recipe

    July 3, 2016

I love cake so I will find a way to have my cake and eat it, even whilst on a fitness journey! So here it is, the easiest way to make a delicious healthy banana cake using oats... Suitable to fit into your macros (for a high carb meal alternative). Great for breakfast or as a post workout meal if you have a protein shake (or another source of protein) with it. Perfect for those who crave bread too. Tastes so good!

    Ingredients:

    235g oats
    3 medium sized ripe bananas
    1/2 tsp bicarbonate soda
    1/2 tsp baking powder
    1/2 tsp salt
    40g Greek yoghurt
    3 egg whites
    2 tbsp honey
    1 tsp vanilla essence
    1/2 tsp cinnamon
Handful dark chocolate chips/white chocolate chips (optional toppings) - I used about 50g

    Method:
Put everything in a blender (runny stuff first, oats last) except the choc chips and blend until mixed well. Use a cake tin or line an ovenproof dish with greaseproof paper and pour the mixture into this. Add the choc chip toppings and bake for 30 mins at 175 degrees. Leave to cool, cut in to squares and then eat as desired. Leftovers can be put in the fridge. Easy as that!

If cut in to 12 pieces, each pieces contains:
    -175 calories
    -26g carbs
    -7g protein
    -4g fat

Remember you can leave the choc chips out if you want less calories!

    Enjoy!
